The Private Investment Index, published by the Bank of Thailand, is a composite index which reflects investment conditions from businesses in Thailand. The index is constructed from five components which include construction area, domestic cement sales, import of capital goods, commercial car sales and domestic machinery sales. A higher-than-expected reading is a bullish factor for the Thai Baht (THB), while a lower-than-expected outcome is bearish.
The typical/expected impact on THB pairs is Low.
Lower numbers than forecast tend to be bullish for xxx/THB pairs and bearish for THB/xxx pairs.
