The Consumer Price Index (CPI), released by the North Rhine-Westphalia statistics office on a monthly basis, measures the average price change for all goods and services purchased by households in North Rhine-Westphalia for consumption purposes. The MoM figure compares the prices of goods in the reference month to the previous month. The data tends to be a leading indicator of the national German CPI as it is published a few hours earlier.
