Trend filter that just... doesn't move in chop 😌 Only follows price once it travels further than usual. Flat line = sit on hands.

Most trend lines wiggle every time price sneezes 🤧 This one doesn't. It only moves when price travels further than the market has recently been travelling. Average per-bar travel gets smoothed twice (sampling period, then roughly double that). That second pass is what stops the band from breathing on every spike, and it's the bit most copies of this idea skip. ✅ ratchets: in an uptrend it can rise or hold, never fall ✅ direction flips marked, with a setting for how many bars must agree first ✅ works on close, typical, median or OHLC average Longer sampling = more stubborn. Which is kind of the point 🙃
